Horror Movie to Watch: It Comes at Night(2017)

It Comes at Night sending chills down your spine. But, you can’t see what 'it' is. You can only watch in horror what 'it' does to the people who become the victims.  This is one of those rare movies that doesn't insist on scaring you in every sequence with a ghost or a monster jumping onto its hapless victim out of nowhere when you least expect it. Director Trey Edward Shults believes in making you watch what would happen to you when the world ends. At the beginning of the movie we see three people wearing gas masks and gloves attending to an elderly man who is heavily sick. His body is full of spores. He is Bud, the dad of Sarah. Sarah, son Travis and her husband Paul ( Joel Edgerton ) has decided to kill Bud to save the family from being infected from an unknown virus that apparently wiped out a major number of the human population. They kill him and burn the body. Paul and his family live in a house in the woods. One night a man breaks into the ...

Horror movie to watch: Wolf Creek(2005)

I have a special fondness for horror movies. It doesn't mean I like all horror movies. I have preferences, yet that doesn't mean I strictly adhere to my preferences. I consider films like Rosemary's Baby and the Shining as classics. But I am also willing to lower the standards to watch a movie like Feral, which I consider highly unoriginal yet watchable(depending on your mood). I am not going to write about Feral now. My focus here is another movie of considerable gore and violence, which may put you in a dilemma: Wolf Creek(2005) . The dilemma is that though I enjoyed Wolf Creek I might not put it along with other great horror flicks I adore. For the time being let's call Wolf Creek one of the top films in my list of guilty pleasure movies. The events in Wolf Creek takes place in the Australian outback. Three backpackers, two women and one dude, get kidnapped by a crazy guy. The crazy guy tortures them in a brutal manner. It is later revealed that the trio are...

The True History of the Kelly Gang by Peter Carey

I believe you have to read a book to write a review on it. In that sense this is not a review of the famous novel The True History of the Kelly Gang. Instead this is written to share my excitement of starting reading The True History of the Kelly Gang. A review of True History of the Kelly Gang may follow after I finish it. but as of now I can assure that the novel is gonna be a true pleasure. Peter Carey's The True History of the Kelly Gang is the winner the Booker Prize in 2001. Peter Carey was born in 1943 in Australia and lives in New York. He has won Booker prize much before  The True History of the Kelly Gang way back in 1988 for Oscar and Lucinda. Oscar and Lucinda has been made into a film by Gillian Armstrong starring Ralph Fiennes.

The Invisible Man

The invisible man visits the house occasionally. Though he is invisible his house is not. Being invisible makes him free and complacent. He is contended with the his life. it's free and and he is not supposed to be responsible. No one checks on him and strictly no rules. Though he is invisible he can eat food, buy clothes-ah not only clothes, he can buy anything....sorry he doesn't buy things, he just take them. Things were going smooth until he met her. And to his surprise, she also met him....(to be continued)
