District 9 director Neill Blomkamp has announced that he will direct the sequel to the iconic RoboCop titled RoboCop Returns. He will direct the movie for the studio MGM. A twitter follower asked whether RoboCop returns will retain the satire and exploding squibs. He also asked whether the movie will be R rated. To that Blomkamp replied : "There will be all these things." They had made a RoboCop remake in 2014. Sadly, the movie was only PG-13. This might have disappointed the fans of the original directed by master Paul Verhoeven.
